Disability Insurance

Our disability insurance benefits help protect your income if you are unable to work due to disability. 

You are eligible for Basic Short-term Disability and Basic Long-term Disability at no cost to you the first of the month following your date of hire. 
 

Buy-up LTD

You may choose to purchase Buy-up LTD coverage during Annual Enrollment or as a new hire.

Buy-up LTD provides an additional 15% of income replacement coverage, which would bring your total LTD benefit to 65% of your basic monthly earnings, up to a maximum monthly benefit of $20,000. 

The portion of your monthly earnings replaced by the additional Buy-up LTD benefit will include bonuses and commissions.

You have the option to purchase additional coverage through the buy-up option

When benefits begin

On the sixth day that you are unable to work due to accident, injury or pregnancy

If you remain unable to work after 90 days

How much the plan pays

100% of your eligible pay for the first week, and 70% of your eligible pay for the remaining period of short-term disability

50% of your Basic monthly earnings (not including bonuses and commissions) up to a maximum monthly benefit of $10,000

If you receive LTD for less than one month, you’ll receive 1/30th of the monthly benefit for each day you are on LTD.

If you chose the buy-up option, you will receive 65% of you basic monthly earnings (including bonuses and commissions)
